ARTIST
Lisa Almond
Lisa’s paintings are inspired by nature, meditation, and music, with an intuitive process that aims to evoke a sense of calm. Instead of depicting specific places, she focuses on atmosphere—layering paint to suggest horizons and landscapes without being literal. Texture plays an important role too, reflecting the beauty and imperfections of nature.
Her connection to landscape began in childhood, growing up in London but spending long stretches in Suffolk and France, where the wild marshes and freedom of the outdoors left a lasting impression. Later, time spent in the mountains of Canada and Colorado, and by the sea in Cornwall, deepened her love of vast spaces and the power of the natural world.
The goal is to create paintings that feel peaceful, powerful and reflective. Now based in Norfolk, she continues to draw on these experiences, with mountains and oceans remaining an enduring influence on her sense of space, depth, and texture.
