Chrissie lives and works in rural South Cambridgeshire, where her garden studio overlooks fields that change with the seasons and meadows alive with wildflowers. This landscape is the heart of her inspiration.
Colour is the starting point in her paintings, explored through different systems yet always balanced with composition — freedom and structure working together.
She begins with sketchbook studies made on location, which serve as a reminder of the place and the moment that caught her attention. Often working in series, Chrissie finds that returning to the same subject deepens her understanding and reveals new surprises.
Alongside her Cambridgeshire work, she has recently explored the Scottish landscape, inspired by annual visits to the Angus Glens. Though the scenery is strikingly different, her process remains the same.
