Madeleine is a Brighton based contemporary artist, inspired by the ever changing sea and the stunning South Downs. She spends hours making observational sketches and photos that result in an intense emotional study of light and texture.

Her work has been shown around the UK, in London, Brighton, Seaford and Worthing. She won the 2026 Baohong Watercolour Award for excellence, exhibiting twice at The Mall Galleries. In addition to this, Madeleine has had a double page feature in Flux art magazine, and a permanent display at Sussex University.

Prior to becoming a full time artist, Madeleine had a long career in fashion and textile design, running a large London design studio that produced garments for major high street companies. She studied fashion at Eastbourne College of Art (HND) and then won a bursary to the Harrow School of Art, passing with Excellence in fashion design.
