Born in Yorkshire and now based in Lincolnshire, Shani returned to painting in 2020 after more than 30 years working internationally in fashion and interior design. A career immersed in colour, creativity and craftsmanship continues to influence her artistic approach today.
Initially drawn to realism, she soon developed a more experimental and intuitive style, inspired by the freedom and innovation she had always embraced in design. Working primarily in acrylic, she creates contemporary still life and floral paintings, often incorporating collage, oil pastel and charcoal to build texture, depth and movement.
Drawing inspiration from the “poetry of ordinary things”, her work explores the quiet beauty found in everyday objects and moments, transforming the familiar into atmospheric and emotionally resonant compositions.
