Located at 14 High Street in the heart of Maldon, The Gallery offers an intimate and characterful space within a beautiful Grade II listed building. Created as a working contemporary art gallery, the space provides a professional yet welcoming environment in which to showcase artwork, create content, launch a collection or bring people together. Whether you're an artist planning a solo exhibition, a group looking for somewhere to exhibit, a photographer searching for a distinctive location, or a creative business wanting to host a launch or event, The Gallery offers a setting with character and atmosphere.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN YOUR GALLERY HIRE

Your hire includes exclusive use of The Gallery and access to the following facilities:

• Hanging space for approximately 40+ medium-sized artworks, with flexible floor space for sculpture and other displays.

• Prominent High Street display window with full use of the gallery's front window, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to passers-by.

• Professional gallery track system spotlights allowing artwork and displays to be illuminated effectively and adjusted to suit your exhibition or event.

• Stas hanging system, providing a robust and flexible solution for displaying artwork without the need to alter the walls with steel cables and zippers for heavier artwork.
• Three display plinths
  Ideal for sculpture, ceramics, three-dimensional work and selected displays.
• Two large display easels
  Available for artwork, signage or other display purposes.
• Sideboard and display furniture
  The gallery includes a sideboard which can be used for display or other exhibition requirements.
• Wi-FiComplimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the gallery.
• Fully accessible toilet facilities
  Accessible toilet facilities are available for hirers and their guests.
• Tea and coffee facilities
  A small kitchen area is available with kettle and coffee-making facilities and a small fridge. Hirers are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
• High Street signage
  Hirers may display an exhibition poster or promotional material in the A2 board supplied.
• Private view / opening event
  Private views and opening events can be arranged by agreement as part of your exhibition booking.
• Gallery promotion
  Exhibition details may be included on The Gallery Maldon's website and selected social media channels. Additional promotional opportunities can be discussed when booking.
• Flexible exhibition layout
  The gallery can be arranged and adapted to suit the nature of your exhibition, display, photography shoot or creative project.
• Exclusive use
  During your agreed hire period, the gallery is exclusively yours for the purpose for which it has been booked.

HIRING CHARGES & FEES

To secure your booking, a refundable deposit is required. Full details of our booking terms and conditions will be provided at the time of booking.

• Booking deposit
  A refundable deposit of £100 is payable by bank transfer upon confirmation of your booking. The deposit will be returned following the hire, provided the gallery is left clean, tidy and in an appropriate condition.
• Gallery hire
  Full gallery exhibition hire is £450 per week. Daily and shorter-term hire may also be available depending on the nature of your booking and availability. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
• Payment
  The full balance is payable by bank transfer no later than 28 days before the commencement of your booking.
• Cleaning and damage
  Hirers are responsible for leaving the gallery in the condition in which it was found. Any additional cleaning, repairs or damage resulting from the hire may be deducted from the refundable deposit. Where costs exceed the deposit, the hirer will be responsible for the additional amount.
• Sales commission
  The Gallery Maldon does not charge commission on artwork sold during a gallery hire. All proceeds from sales remain with the hirer.

Cancellation terms will be provided as part of the booking terms and conditions.
